Covering what the Creed tells us about Christ and what His birth means to us, this is the thirteenth in a series of lectures on the Catholic Catechism recorded in 1965 by Archbishop Fulton J Sheen in the privacy of his own study. A master communicator, Fulton Sheen recorded this insightful overview of the teaching of the Holy Catholic Church.
The Creed summarizes the life of Christ. Our Lord was born in a stable, the last place one would look for Him. Divinity is where you least expect to find it. The reason He waited thirty years to begin His ministry may have been that His human nature would be at full perfection at that age. John the Baptist called Him “the Lamb of God.” This was a foretelling of the Cross — the Lamb slain in sacrifice.
