Concerning the Sacraments of the Church and how they act as a channel of Grace in our lives, this is the twenty fifth in a series of lectures on the Catholic Catechism recorded in 1965 by Archbishop Fulton J Sheen in the privacy of his own study and first broadcast under the title 'Life is Worth Living'. A master communicator, Fulton Sheen recorded this insightful overview of the teachings of the Holy Catholic Church.
Grace is communicated to us by the sacraments. Our Lord uses certain things such as water, bread, and oil as channels for the communication of His divine life. The sacraments spiritualize our material world. God uses things that appeal to our senses as material signs that are revelations of the grace He is pouring into our souls. It is Christ who confers grace through the priests and bishops.
