Dealing with the fundamental moral questions of man relation to Good and Evil, this is the fifth in a series of lectures on the Catholic Catechism recorded in 1965 by Archbishop Fulton J Sheen in the privacy of his own study. A master communicator, Fulton Sheen recorded this insightful overview of the teaching of the Holy Catholic Church.
In a moral universe we are free to obey the laws of God or disobey them. A thing is good when it attains its purpose. We become supremely happy by attaining the life, truth, and love that is God. What we do to achieve this goal is good. We have a moral standard within our conscience. Disobeying God destroys peace of soul. Our reason and will are weak and we have many temptations. God can help us by giving us new truths and illuminating our reason.
