Today there is an emphasis on the social at the expense of the individual. This is the opposite extreme from what was the case formerly. The two need to be put together. The spiritual comes before action. Our Lord’s first public words were, “Come and see.” His last words were, “Go into the world.” Too many people “go” and too few “come.” A regular Holy Hour will fortify one from the inside and enable him to go into the world with an entirely different view.
